We believe in handcrafting bath and beauty products that are environmentally responsible, toxin-free, and healthy for the whole family. All of our products are made with all-natural ingredients, sourcing organic or locally whenever possible.
Why We Don't Use Palm Oil:
You can find palm oil in most soaps, bath and body products, and candles made today. Palm oil production is neither sustainable nor responsible. The industry is linked to major issues such as deforestation, habitat degradation, climate change, animal cruelty and indigenous rights abuses in the countries where it is produced, as the land and forests must be cleared for the development of palm oil plantations. According to the World Wildlife Fund, an area the equivalent size of 300 football fields of rainforest is cleared each hour to make way for palm oil production. This large-scale deforestation is pushing many species to extinction, and findings show that if nothing changes, species like the orangutan could become extinct in the wild within the next 5-10 years, and Sumatran tigers less than 3 years.

How is soap made?
"Handcrafted soaps made from scratch require three ingredients to become soap: oil (animal or vegetable oil, not petroleum-based oil), water and lye. These three ingredients, mixed together in correct proportions, combine and chemically change into soap - a process called "saponification". They may include other ingredients to provide additional benefits or to color or scent the soap, but these are not part of the chemical process that results in basic soap."

What's in this soap?
Tree Hugger Soap Co. products are made of all natural ingredients. We never use palm oil or animal fats, and most of our soaps are vegan, with the exception of honey in some recipes (always listed in the title). Our complete ingredient list in on every label. Our recipe includes Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, Cocoa and Shea Butters, and Aloe Vera. Sometimes you'll find other additives like jojoba or camelina oils. All of our soaps are fragranced with pure essential oils. We use natural bontanicals and clays to color our soap, add extra nourshining properties, give them a little exfloiant, and make a luxury skin bar.
